Art brings smiles :)

People ask us all the time, “What is a Dream Center?”

When you live in a place like La Lopez, Honduras its hard to dream.

You might start off with big dreams like being a professional soccer player or a teacher, but when your family can’t make ends meet and they send you to beg on the streets instead of being in school, well, the dream starts to fade. For many of our kids, this is the sad reality. Then the drug life begins to seem appealing because it offers and quick, easy way out of poverty. Who wouldn’t want to be a look out for the dealers on the street and get their cut? Thats why the Dream Center exists. It gives kids in this lower income area a place to go and something to do. It gives them something to dream about again. We absolutely love to see their faces light up when we are explaining a new art project that we are going to be doing. Who knows, maybe some of them have dreamed about being an artist, but in a home where food is rare, you definitely don’t have money for crayons.
