One of the first things we noticed about Marylin was how she cares for her home. It is a small rented place, and the conditions are not the best. Despite that, everything is clean and well-kept. During one visit, something simple caught our attention. On the walls hung old pictures with values from our church. It was a small detail, but it showed what mattered most to her.
Marylin is the mother of three children. Years ago, her husband left with the promise that he would go to the United States, work, and support the family. But like many stories we hear, he eventually built a new life there, one that no longer included Marylin and the children.

When Marylin first started coming to the Dream Center, the ministry was still meeting in the small house where everything began. At first, she was protective of her children and did not feel comfortable leaving them with strangers. Instead, she came every day to watch, to see what was happening, and to get to know the people serving there.
Little by little, we got to know her as well. What we discovered was a woman with a kind heart. Marylin often spoke to the children in the program with love and care, treating them as if they were her own.

As we spent more time together, we discovered another gift Marilyn carries. She is an incredible cook. About five years ago, she became the main cook for the Dream Center feeding program, and since then, she has faithfully prepared meals for the children who come through our doors.
Week after week, she shows up ready to serve others, making sure the kids are fed and cared for.

Even while she serves others, Marylin carries her own hopes. Her dream is simple. She wants a home of her own for her children. Last year, something special happened when our local church in Honduras was able to help Marylin purchase a piece of land for her future home. It was a huge step forward for her family. Now we continue to pray and trust God to provide the resources needed to build a home where Marylin and her children can live with security and peace.

Marylin’s story reminds us that change often begins with something simple. A mother who keeps showing up, a community that walks with her, and faith that believes the next chapter is still being written.
We are excited to see what comes next. If you would like to be part of Marylin’s story and help build her family’s home, you can give below. Give the full amount to build Marilyn’s home, or give any amount to support the project.
